Glasswing International Honors TelevisaUnivision and Donna Karan at Eleventh Annual Gala, Raising $1.6 Million for Youth Empowerment

Celina de Sola, Gabby Karan De Felice, Donna Karan, and Carmen Busquests graced the Glasswing International Annual Gala in New York City, where TelevisaUnivision Executive Chairman Alfonso de Angoitia also attended in celebration of global impact and philanthropy.

New York, October 10, 2025 — Under the glittering chandeliers of Cipriani 25 Broadway, more than 500 philanthropists, innovators, and cultural leaders gathered for Glasswing International’s Eleventh Annual Gala. The evening raised an impressive $1.6 million to support youth and community programs across Latin America and New York City, reaffirming Glasswing’s role as one of the most influential social-impact organizations in the region.

A Night of Purpose and Vision

This year’s honorees embodied the spirit of collaboration and transformation. TelevisaUnivision, the world’s leading Spanish-language media company, and its Executive Chairman Alfonso de Angoitia were recognized for their dedication to civic engagement and social inclusion. Meanwhile, legendary designer Donna Karan, founder of Urban Zen, received the Glasswing Humanitarian Award for her lifelong commitment to compassion, healing, and community well-being.

TelevisaUnivision has long championed initiatives that empower Hispanic communities, from advancing financial literacy to amplifying access to health information and civic participation. Its partnership with Glasswing has led to transformative projects like “Manos a la Obra” in Mexico City — where over 80 volunteers helped renovate schools — and mentorship programs introducing high school students in Mexico and New Jersey to creative careers in media and production.

“At TelevisaUnivision, we believe in the power of storytelling to change lives,” said Alfonso de Angoitia. “Partnering with Glasswing has shown us how sharing stories and dreams can create hope and expand possibilities.”

Donna Karan: Fashion with a Humanitarian Heart

Philanthropy has always been woven into Donna Karan’s legacy. Through her Urban Zen Foundation, she has dedicated herself to promoting mental health, holistic well-being, and social responsibility. Since 2018, Karan has been a steadfast Glasswing supporter and continues to champion causes from AIDS awareness to trauma-informed healing initiatives. Her daughter, Gabby Karan de Felice, presented the award in a touching tribute.

“Glasswing’s mission resonates deeply with my belief in the power of healing and compassion,” said Donna Karan. “The true honor is standing alongside young people who remind us daily of our shared resilience and humanity.”

A Collective Commitment to Change

The evening was hosted by John Moore, Chair of the Glasswing Board and Morgan Stanley’s Head of Latin America, with co-chairs Carmen Busquets, Valentina Ferrer, and Jana Pasquel de Shapiro. Notable guests included Valentina Ferrer, Isaac Hernández, Stephanie March, Willy Chavarria, Bloody Osiris, Trisha Gregory of Amazon Luxury Stores, Shilpa Shah of Cuyana, and Egriselda López, El Salvador’s Permanent Representative to the U.N. Entertainment for the night featured DJ Marty Rock and percussionist Matthew Gonzalez, setting a tone of energy and optimism.

“Glasswing’s mission is built on collaboration,” said Celina de Sola, President and Co-Founder of Glasswing. “Together, we can transform schools into community centers, foster trauma-informed environments, and create opportunities for the next generation.”
