From Barcelona to New York: identity, emotion, and new codes at 080
The 37th edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion (April 14–17) once again proved that fashion is a space for creative expression in constant evolution. Set against the backdrop of Port Vell, the Barcelona-based runway brought together collections that moved between heritage, experimentation, and deeply personal design perspectives—further cementing its growing international reach.
One of the standout moments was the 50th anniversary celebration of Adolfo Domínguez, which closed the opening day. Under the creative direction of Tiziana Domínguez, the brand ներկայացd “El Número,” a tribute collection that revisits its archives—particularly the ’80s and ’90s—through a modern lens. Tailoring, a core pillar of the house, was reimagined through hybrid volumes, relaxed styling, and contemporary touches, culminating in a moving tribute to the founder and his legacy.
Among the highlights, SKFK made its runway debut with “Lotura,” a collection that bridges Basque tradition and sustainability through artisanal techniques and biomaterials. Ricardo Seco leaned into a bold, urban aesasthetic, blending cultural references with artistic collaborations in a visually striking lineup.
Meanwhile, Nazzal Studio showcased “Al-Najah,” emphasizing craftsmanship and natural materials while integrating traditional techniques into contemporary silhouettes. Finally, Eñaut explored personal evolution in “Ego dissolution,” offering an introspective collection where structured forms and controlled volumes reflect a refined, thoughtful approach to identity.
Altogether, this edition of 080 positions Barcelona as a dynamic creative hub where fashion engages with the present—connecting local roots with a global outlook, and resonating well beyond the runway.
